OuiShare and La Fabrique des Mobilités

EM Edwin Mootoosamy Public Seen by 44

Dear all,

As some of you may know we are currently working on a project call « La Fabrique des Mobilités » -http://lafabriquedesmobilites.fr/ - in France.

The story start more than one year ago when Antonin and me were invited to think about how we can created and developed a mobility sector and not different sectors for car manufacturers; web services, public policies…

Today the project is financed by l’ADEME public agency for sustainable development and are built around a community. OuiShare is already partner of this adventure

For this first step, until June 2015, OuiShare is involve in two main plans :

  • Strategy and community management
  • Study about the potential development in Europe and World Wild

As you could understand it’s an ambitious project with lot’s of potential for OuiShare.

Fund distribution :

As we rapidly see that we have a lack of competency on this project we involve Ghislain in it, as a consultant in mobility and previously worked for Deways ( french car sharing platform) he is the perfect guy for doing this job. Moreover he follow OuiShare since the a long time.

The total amount for this first step is 43k€ for now we are thinking to distribute the money like this :

5% for Julie - 10 half day of work
5% for Edwin - for one year of work before the deal
10% for OuiShare - as structural costs
27% for Antonin - for making this happen, strategic view and 2 days / month
53% for Ghislain - for 2 or 3 days / week

This model could be adapted during the following weeks.

If you have inputs on the wealth distribution but also on the project himself you are more than welcome !

Great project :)
I think this fits very nicely with the experience we're (I'm) doing at OSVehicle (building an ecosystem/platform for socially and environmentally sustainable - infinite niches automotive marketplace).

Regarding funding distribution I think the team should decide internally and the team should be built by the one that creates the opportunity (anto in this case). This in general not just for this opportunity.

One thing I may suggest in general to project leaders/accounts, when it comes to such beautiful and correctly funded projects - is to consider a small budget in the project to involve people from the community that may bring expertise at later stages or during the project itself (either by value accounting or by just saying "we save this XXXX amount of euros to involve poeple from the community). This may be a success factor.

looking forward to be informed/involved about the progress ;)

I think 10% for Ouishare & 5% as a success fee for Edwin meets our overall converging practice. discussing the rest of the breakdown belongs to the people contributing to it. it would be nice if you can eventually document how you reached the final breakdown so it can serve as an example for other projects, be it a quick informal discussion or self & peer evaluation of contribution. finally it might be useful to leave a floating percentage of revenue (10%?) for adjusting income to actual contribution post-project. for example, Julie is initially allocated 4% but, at the end of the project, peer & self assessments increase her contribution to 6%.

Dear @simonecicero and @daviddebelleville
The breakdown is actually not "stalled" since we planned a review of involvement of everybody at mid-project.
There is also room for additional collaborations & expertise. We might talk more about your experience and current projects @simonecicero
Have a nice day,
Ghislain

We also have to think about a collaboration with POC21. cc @benjamintincq

Beautiful project, congratulations team! and yes we actually just talked about La Fabrique des Mobilités today with the OSVehicle team including @simonecicero ;

OSV will be "platform partner" of POC21 and asked whether la Fabrique des Mobilités would be involved: it might make sense, but I'm just looking forward closing the ADEME sponsorship on POC21 before :)

Just wanted to say guys that, if you want we have developed a kind of practice in OuiShare to manage projects considering both pre-allocated and (post) value accounted activities. Is still in refinement but you can use it (OuiShare Cost-model dashboard) http://ouiki.ouishare.net/index.php?title=How_to_manage_and_account_OuiShare_Projects_-_First_Webinar

Hey there, it's great to read about this!

1+ to Simone's comment on pre & post value accounted activities.
I'm still studying contribution models because it's an idea that emerging communities like LATAM and teams in Spain are finding useful (especially since there aren't many examples in our domains). It'd be great if shared findings with the rest of OS in case you end up using it.

Since we have you here, Simone: are there any updates on the next round of knowledge/insight after the first webinar?

Besos!

Very nice to hear about it :) cool guys!
1+ for Simone's suggestion on value accounting- it happens to be the case many people join in at later stage and i think this contribution model is of great potential.
Also as David says, it would be cool to document the criterias for breakdown of cost for future references.
