i18n_viz
gem which inserts JS tooltips displaying the translation keys in strings. tooltips can also link directly to online translation tool (still ironing out those kinks for transifex)

gem which provides allows quick identification of undefined or unused translation key:value pairs in your rails app.

this was intended as a thread for people interested in translating apps generally.

these two tools we shouldn't have need to use regularly in development. I imagine we will plug the gems in and run them every month or so.

If you would like to try them I have a branch for each tool. You may need to 'freshen' them up by pulling in the current master branch.

i18n_viz still needs a little work til you can click and be taken straight into the right transifex translation. I described the issue I hit here
