[post - published] Statement after the 12/09 vote in the EU Parliament on Copyright

Today's vote was lost, and I wanted to have a reaction on that. I didn't want to make one more article about why we should have voted against, etc, this has been done by many people already and... they have not been heard.

So the draft I made is a probably more accusing than our previous statements, and the press is pointed at clearly. We cannot have a healthy debate without a press doing their job, and they didn't do it. Who is going to say it, if not us, we who were insulted by them?
So I wanted to take the opportunity to say that, and remind everyone that the fight is not lost, and even if today's vote had been a success, we would have had to keep on fighting no matter what.

Julia Reda also has a nice pic where you see which coalitions voted what. Last time I also did a pic with wich Belgian parlementarian voted what, I can see if I can make that again (I made a HTML/JS template, so I just need to find and fill in the information). It would be nice to include those as well.
I may look for it this evening.

And maybe we could also ask people to send mails thanking those who voted against and asking those who voted in favor why they did that and express their disappointment. (As part of the fight). Especially to those who voted against the first time and for this time!

EDIT: I switched 'against' and 'in favor' facepalm

Or even call the MEP's about it if they feel up to it ;)
But I think just asking to call is just scaring away people.
