Global Operations Team 2019 - Call for contribution
Hello dear ouishare connectors,
In 2018, a small team of connectors from different communities gathered regularly in order to manage tasks related to the commons of the global ouishare community.
This team was initially gathered by @francesca, composed of : @auli, @esratat, @helenevuaroqueaux, @anamanli, @saraheisenmann, @manuelayamada, @ehabelia and myself.
This work have especially been documented in this post (https://www.loomio.org/d/JT04Amrb/global-budget-2018-validation).
It was the first time in ouishare (short) history that so many people took collectively transversal responsabilities and that we were able to directly finance it. Before that; it was done only by @francesca who was paid by other projects.
The objectives of this team are :
- mapping the commons of ouishare
- budgeting how much we need to maintain them and find this money from local communities
- working on a global strategy for ouishare (not really been done in 2018)
- proposing this work on summits and loomio for global approbation
As we would like this process to be the more open possible, this is a call to contribute to the 2019 team.
The 2018-team takes the engagement of training the new ones until december and working with them on a global process that will be published here, asking for a clear mandate from the global community.
Edit from @esratat :
Being part of the global ops team is a great way to see how OS "works" :) (and it's worth joining even if you feel like you're a bit too "new" as a Connector.)
You can find the roles that have been financed in 2018 in the budget : https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/17plMldy8pq1395RCRuPK_T0e6OESMbdTDouKQVQkgC4/edit
You can find a description of each role and the amount of work that is needed in this document : https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dRgApkxStISnoV5JS3E7zgL_cqgaSsF6kxocIiKrRXw/edit#heading=h.8462mv8kdxl
So, who's in ?

This work is immense and so important. A big thank you to the team :) I will not be able to join as my focus in Ouishare for the coming months is to support local communities in Brussels and India.

Thanks @alexbigver for taking this forward with so much clarity and hard work. And big thanks to everyone who joined the first round of the distributed ops team - it's been quite a journey to "decentralizing" this work and we're still learning a lot on how to make it even better :)

Hi guys! Just to add to what Alex said above: being part of the global ops team is a great way to see how OS "works" :) (and it's worth joining even if you feel like you're a bit too "new" as a Connector.) <3
