I am excited by a new logo. Not as confident in fundraising ability for this purpose. I like the idea of a logo contest each year.

I think the logo is too important to leave to a contest, is that wrong? :P Paola made a few logos last year and she could make more... I can ask if she would do it for free, but she has special discount for friends that is a very good price for a professional logo ($200)

while i love the emotion involved, and the history of the logo, from an esthetic point of view, with design, memorability, etc in mind, it's not working. i think it needs to ALWAYS be part of our history. ALWAYS. but we need a new logo to move >

I don't want to do a logo contest at this time (not for WMW13) but I agree that we need to either make the current logo more adaptable, or we need a new logo. I think this proposal needs to be further refined after we measure agreement here.
