Proposal to post to membership for Equity Audit Committee, as a short-term working group

Hi yall, I've talked about member engagement and the effective use of resources - human and financial.

I propose that we post to membership to invite people to join a committee that would meet in February, March, and April for a limited time. This committee would make recommendations to the Organizing Circle to become intentional about assessing power and auditing equity within Social.Coop. This committee would review options for action, such as an Equity Audit or organization assessment, either as a one-time effort, say, annually, and/or in the form of ongoing activities for reflective practices within Working Groups and the OC and the membership in place. We might invite people with experience in organizational change for diversity, equity, power, inclusion, and we could cap membership within this committee to 4-5 people. No members of the OC have this experience, and I believe people in our membership do. (I am involved in an equity audit right now.)
