Tangleball should make use of loomio

D Danielle Public Seen by 12

I feel that Loomio provides a good basis for managing some of the ongoing discussions and debates at Tangleball.

The suggestion is only to enhance the onsite discussions on Tuesdays or Saturday, and there is no intention to exclude those members who do not go online.

I suggest we introduce loomio discussions which can feed into the face-to-face conversations at Tangleball, where the votes that count will occur.

I agree, we generally like to keep major decision making happening in a physical meetup, management by mailing list was not what we were originally about, but obviously there are things that could be bounced around via the ether. I suggested a while back, that people looking to be informed about Tangleball, events or technical questions probbably don't want to read a bunch of angry or argumentative emails on the mailing list, and this could be the solution. I think this could be a great adjunct to the mailing list.
Topics could be raised and discussed a little, then all interested parties head off to loomio to continue the discussion.
The only thing is it seemes to have a character limit , similar to twitter, so waffly people like me would be in trouble. lol.
Cheers.

odd.... looks like a bug in the system.
closed & summary provided but still rolling along....
may need to escalate to devs

Should we use Loomio, as an augmented (non-binding?) tool to weekly meetings, to vote (& record) on issues affecting the wider member-base, thereby allowing consensus/participation & lending a voice to members unable to otherwise attend?

Worth a try at least - does not have to be binding until ratified at meeting.
Suggest we run proposals to close just before the following Tuesday-evening meets.

Thanks, Jaco, I didn't realise I only suggested a discussion and not a related proposal. Now that there is a proposal, I can officially give it the thumbs up.

Seems to do one thing well, but it's another layer of interfacing and bunch of navigating that puts me off. But if it works and is used then why not?

This vote is actually a "so far undecided", or a "possibly, but with reservations" - so far because there's no voting option for that, just: Agree,Disagree,Abstain,Block.
If I do nothing, will that hold up the vote until all are in (null="errr..")?

/me not sure if proposal (->) should run up to before this meeting or the next, as we need to get more members on-board to be of any meaningful value

I've changed the closing date to give others opportunity to come on board & have a play before making a decision & casting their vote ahead of a Tuesday meet
