WMW 2013 Projects
This is the list of the projects suggested for this year. The proposal is to 'approve' them, being mindful that we might not be able to fulfil them all this year. In other words, please say so if you have objections to any of the projects. if you do not object to any of the projects, vote 'I agree or 'I abstain'' so we can start putting together teams to carry them out.
-A milksharing book, like spiritual midwifery but with milksharing stories
-A petition to ask LLL to modify its policy about milksharing
-A kind of 'VAERS" for milksharing, to serve as research (the reason why milksharing is dangerous is cause transmission risk, yet there is no evidence of this being something that happens, and nobody will do the research to debunk it cause there is no profit in it)
-Start the process to petition UN/WHO to recognize WMW.
-Engage prominent researchers to participate/have a presence in WMW13 or future years (e.g. Akre, Gribble, etc.)
- webinar for health professionals how can they help families make informed milksharing, from why families choose to milkshare, covering screening, and sipping and sns and webinars for families and allies too
-educational material covering those topics to be posted in our website
- throughout the week, we could use the 'claim this offer' feature to get discount coupons for who complaint products and explain why they are who compliant and why who compliance matters
-Educate about WHO hierarchy for infant feeding: history, salient points/features, interpretation, real-world impacts
-Educate about WHO code for marketing breast milk substitutes: history, salient points/features, interpretation, real-world impacts (bear in mind that I'd say 99.44% of the USA doesn't have a clue that this exists, it has not been adopted as law here like it has been in other countries). Make a list of who complaint/non compliant companies and products.
-allow milksharing families to have blogs in our site to document their milksharing journey
-Complete listing of milksharing related research/publications.

Please include me in this team for this subtopic. I am interested to explore the opportunity of working with health authorities about milksharing. I've officially met the MoH of Malaysia and I need fresh new ideas on how to proceed with this.

I have no objections to these projects! Would it be wise, y'all think, in addition to putting together teams to address these things, that as a group we prioritize the order of projects (in the event we don't hit them all this year)?
For instance, this: "-Complete listing of milksharing related research/publications." on the website should happen before petitioning WHO/UNICEF, and soliciting big name endorsers, just for legitimacy.

Agus, I'm confused about what we're supposed to do here...approve or not the whole bundle group?
