Shortcut to post
As expected, a lot of users (including me :p) are complaining about the "shift+enter" shortcut. In every other software (including Facebook), shift+enter is newline. We should not put this shortcut to post.

Replace "Shift+enter" by "Ctrl+Enter" to post messages Closed Thu 30 May 2013 2:05PM
The shortcut will be changed from Shift+Enter to Ctrl+enter (see https://github.com/diaspora/diaspora/pull/4184)
The shortcut used by Gmail to send emails is Ctrl+enter, we could use that instead of "shift+enter", which is the default shortcut for newline in a lot of softwares.

I like Ctrl+Enter and think it's a more natural 'do action' combo for many users - Shift+Enter has (for me) more of a 'soft return' meaning to it, so would prefer it not to be used for 'post message'.
If some prefer Shift+Enter, p

I'm not using it but would have been surprised if shift+enter would send what I'm doing. Ctrl+Enter also sends the mail in Thunderbird and many other software, so I think that's a better choice.

ctrl-shift is way more logical imho.
On Facebook shift-enter adds a new line :)

Even if we don't send a post when hitting enter, most discussion software does and people might be inclined to hit Shift+Enter to be sure their post won't be sent right away.
Mapping both wouldn't solve the problem here.
