Propose-a-badge-badge
As per discussion in last week's SPC meeting, I am proposing a badge and a process to encourage bottom-up development of new badges.
The Proposed-A-Badge Badge would be awarded to anyone who successfully advocates for the creation of a new badge. In this way the community can be encouraged to articulate and develop it's norms of laudatory behavior.
The process for advocating this new badge could be the same as the process for other Loomio proposals (Like this one): A discussion thread created, a proposal developed, and at least 15 Agree-votes constituting at least 80% of all votes (including Abstain).
If this proposal is approved, the Badge and the process would be put in place, and the bootstrapping of our badge-ocracy will be advanced.
(The system could evolve along lines laid out in the 2016 TEEEM Tools whitepaper from which the below image is taken, but that would be up to the community.)

Jon recently replied to me about that, Donna. (Short answer is, "yes", it has to be accepted.)

No disrespect intended! Only trying to help "jazz it up" the way they do when naming cars. We want all our badges to be "hot rods", to be more attractive to makers. That's all I was thinking.
A little naming help might... help?
But maybe not. That's fine.
:nerd:

To remove ambiguity, how about "Successfully championed a new badge" ?

we don't have Teams (perhaps we should)
we do have Chapters and they get badges
So, I don't see why not....

Just saw this... I requested access to the Google Drive link below. (Sometimes I read my email late, like once every couple of days or so.)
I'm aboogieman (on) gmail.

I'm reading this at 6:30 am after a long week. "Propose a badge" is clear to this fuzzy morning brain. All the rest made me wonder what the badge was actually for. Please do keep the name easy to relate to what it is for. Leland had asked questions earlier about whether you just have to propose it or whether the badge has to be approved- perhaps a better descriptive name is out there- but please keep it simple!
