Dear all

At our monthly Board meeting today we agreed the date of our AGM this year: 2nd October. Because of the uncertainty around a third wave, and to afford as broad access to the event as possible, we've decided to run it as virtual event. As before it will run in two sessions with a lunch break in the middle. We will put up an event page shortly so please do sign up and share widely! Thank you. 🙂

Session One (11:00-12:30) '

  • Welcome and Frame for the Event

  • Learnings and Decisions from 2020-21

    Includes the strategy proposed for the coming year; a report from our Winter Seminar series; also from this summer's international Agroforestry Research Trust Forest Garden Symposium (includes the latest research on benefits of Forest Garden)

  • Story Telling A structured approach to gathering stories about your community forest garden - with an example. Story telling can be an effective way of spreading learning to support communities to set up their own forest garden.

Lunch break (12:30-13:30)

Session Two (13:30-15:00)

  • Directors' Report including Financial Statement

    To be agreed by membership; Members vote on Board directors for the coming year

  • Open Space

    Members and visitors can all propose topics for discussion and action with the intention to promote the aims of NFGS. We respond by following the 'law of two feet' - joining those discussions that draw our energy and interest.

  • Action planning - and Close

    We hear from each group, agree actions together, request and offer resources, and then close the event.

We will have a Board meeting on July 17th which will include planning for the event. Please do feel very welcome to join us if you'd like to. A zoom link will be sent closer to the time.

At yesterday's Directors' meeting we agreed that we would POSTPONE the AGM to Saturday, 20 November and develop the programme but keep to same time of day and overall times [Our next Directors' Board meeting will be Saturday 30th October]

Session Two Directors' Report will include (as well as the financial statement) the report on the previous AGM event and business meeting held on26th September 2020 Enhance Well-being by Gardening with Nature:

Build resilience in times of crisis…I attach a DRAFT report which doesn't include full attendance. If you were there please check that you are listed correctly and if not please let me know (Bungah, Daphne, Katherine, Luzita, Ruth & Tish I found just the one name for you); also of any other amendments needed. It'll be finalised at the next AGM.
