Currently, we have four widgets at the bottom of pages: a search bar, an advertisement (that I asked Drummyralf to enlarge), a random posts widget and a Facebook Like box. To reflect our needs better, what do you think should appear there?

I really like the basic premise, but it doesn't seem forum related enough. Perhaps a faint image of the forum main page in the background? But on the other hand, I'm no graphic designer. It just needs a little refinement.

I like the current use of space. I like the introduction on random papercrafts. I like the size and layout of the 'visit the forums' icon. I do not like the image of the icon. It is a good placeholder but I think we can do better

I still have a couple of knitpicks, but on the whole it's really coming along. That said, I still think that it needs a bit of polish first. But I wouldn't mind if we kept this layout - it's really good.

It fits for a "first version", we could do something better in the future though.

I don't think we should bring back the backgrounds. They clutter up the page and the old ones didn't always load promptly.

@darklink13 You mean, the blue silhouettes background? Unfortunately, I tried putting a background other than the current paper textured. The result? With the current theme, many text elements are directly over the background, which makes them unreadable. We could eventually try to make our blog more Nintendo-looking, but that'd implicate a theme change.
