Shared Insurance

BJ Bev Johnson Public Seen by 403

When Stephanie ran into the speed bump about insurance for the Science Expo presentation Adam said she was covered via enkel. I remember this was one of the membership attractors for Spacecubed when it started.

What are the guidelines around our membership insurance?

Good point! Sorry for the response delay!
I think Adam's been off camping to ;)

I'm not sure if this is something we can include in our marketing for new members somehow? At least on the sign up page's fine print?

Good question @bevjohnson. enkel has a public liability insurance, i.e members are covered for events, workshops etc. However we don't have any insurance for the Vic Park MiniLab content. Town of Vic Park has insured the building, but we decided not to take out insurance for content in the space, as there are no real valuable things (yet).

It was when I was trying to avoid paying public liability insurance 3 years ago that a friend told me to join SpaceCubed as I would be covered for my consultancy work via their insurance. I didn't ever join SpaceCubed so I am not sure what I would have been covered for. The cost of joining enkel is certainly lower than my annual public liability insurance cost. There is a financial benefit for me to be a member of enkel if I can drop my public liability insurance.
