Kaka 'Group'... where to from here?

On Monday 25th July 2016 a group of ten people who have been involved, in some form, in the Kaka Project and it's off-spring projects. We resolved that the positive energy, connections, outcomes and momentum from the Project should not be lost and that there's a willingness to do more. So where to from here?

1. Change the name: previously this Loomio group had resolved to change the name from 'Kaka Project' to 'Kaka Group' to better describe what its about. Not specific projects but a forum or conversation to discuss shared local issues and support individuals and groups doing great stuff. Not a substitute for any of the numerous fantastic groups that our community already has but one that facilitates conversation between them.

2. Refresh the comms: we have a website and a facebook page which need to be updated to reflect the name change, celebrate the success to date and plot whats ahead. That needs volunteers to do so...??

3. Pick up the other streams of work: In the successful pitch to WCC's Annual Plan hearing in May 2015 we set out 4 areas to work on . These need to be reviewed in light of whats happened over the last year...

   • the Brooklyn Hub
   • the Vogelmorn Precinct
   • connecting & celebrating - events, active transport
   • our local environment - FOOS, Upstream, Brooklyn Food Group

4. Meet 2, 3 or 4 times a year to discuss where the synergies, overlaps and potential for mutual support exist. Help 'things' happen.

5. The next 'thing' is a celebration and promotion of active transport in Spring/Summer 2016. This will leverage off the WCC's support in this years Annual Plan for the A2B Group's plans to increase active transport in the Brooklyn Area.
