Skillshare and Working Group for Tech Security for Activists
After reading the debate on another discussion on the usefulness of Loomio, It seems that there is wide gap in knowledge about technology and its implications for activists/activist groups.
So I thought it would be a good idea to a) create a tech working group and b) do some skills share of information
Maybe
a) Summary of the key implications from the Wikileaks and Snowden to activists
b) The risks activists and Oc democracy faces
c) The strengths and tools they can use to their best
d) Implication for Journalists, Lawyers and others who are obliged to protect the privacy of their clients in a no privacy age.
e) Key people who are fighting for privacy
f) Key politicians fighting for privacy.

Me too! That would be really useful. Thanks.

Very good idea. I did a workshop on this a year ago. Here are my slides. Some taken from a crypto-party I attend before that. Feel free to use any of it.

@vica When you are around, maybe we can go through and discuss both of our ideas of what people need to know and then incorporate a two part workshop.

@saeedabukhari1 unfortunately I will not have time before Xmas, but definitely interested to do something in the new year. Are you based in London?

@vica let's hook up after Xmas

@saeedabukhari1 Yes! I would really like that. I'm finding it so hard to find people wanting to work on this, so great to hear we have a common interest. I'll be back on the 16th of Jan. Let's hock up after that. Have a nice Xmas holiday, and let's catch up in the new year!

Ok @vica, lets do that.

Sounds like a great idea. Unlikely to be able to attend in person, but up for learning from what you can pass on in text form :)
