Open 2018 : 26-27 July in London

Volunteers can help with anything... they should be able to provide at least half a day of support at the event (to help direct people where to go, help with registration etc) and / or offer some social media support in the run up to the event... or something else! Just let us know what you would like to do?

@olisb What are your answers about the open app ecosystem space during this event ? Who's interested by this initiative ?

I mean with your emails and stuff, you contacted some people I think, what answers did you get (I mean we say answer in french, but maybe not in english).

@olisb I'm gonna make some promotion for this event at the WSF and talk about the Open app ecosystem space to bring people interested by this question here to the open event.

@olisb Another question : How can we contribute to the event ? Do you have a chat or a loomio's group to organisate the event ?

I've had a few chats with others about ideas for some open space sessions but nothing is set yet - this thread is the best place to post ideas about what we could discuss as part of an OAE session. We had some discussion on it last year which was broken down into things like Identity, Linked Open Data, Open Standards, Protocols and Taxonomies etc... but we're really open to any ideas people might have... the hard part is making sure it is open enough for anyone to join (who doesn't know about the OAE idea) but specific enough for people who have been studying and working in this area for some time to make useful progress... But I guess how we provide for that depends on who turns up...

Yeah inclusivity is very important. That's why I was thinking about several working groups working or discussing about a specific subject.

My wife and I are planning to come to this! Did you get my email to the address you gave in the CTA thread @olisb ? If anyone else is on the fence about coming, come! It would be great to meet some of the people who comment here in the flesh, and we can make progress in an hour or two of F2F conversations that would take weeks or months of sending text back and forth.

just replied to you via email - we're planning several sessions on tech so the more people from OAE and CTA that can make it the better - I couldn't agree with Strypey more - f2f conversations should really help move things fwd... :)

Hey @olisb I love the idea of collaboratively pre-planning some OAE sessions during the event, but rather than a goOgle Doc, can we please use an open app like EtherPad or CryptPad? A detailed table of collaborative authoring tools is being aggregated on the P2P Foundation wiki.
