I'm fine with whatever the majority decides. It sounds like, if the decision is to go ahead, there is definitely a need for further conversation to iron out details before the work can progress.

I have no issues with the work going ahead this Feburary and trust those involved know what they are doing .

I currently don’t want the works to go ahead. The work proposed is construction work with people working at height and with large timbers on major structural elements of the hub. Before I’m neutral I need the following confirming:

I'm in favour if:
someone who understands the structural engineering of the building check on the proposed plan
the new design is going to last, and not fail in a similar manner ( the last repair looks to have the same weakness)
Request that thought is given to whether the budget can be stretched to plumbing refurb for the kitchen.

What is this poll about?
At the last shareholders meeting (Monday 29th January) Ayres proposed that works were undertaken on three external timber posts in the covered area in front of the post room. These posts are rotting.
Ayres has some money collected from bar money collected at Ayres and Heather's wedding party that he wants to put towards Hub maintenance/repair etc. He will use this money for the post repairs.
Why is this important?
I'm pretty sure (?) that Ayres said that if anyone told him not to go ahead with the works, he wouldn't. I'd like to find out if the majority of shareholders are happy or otherwise for these works to go ahead.
What are you asking people to do?
I'd like people to vote as to whether or not they are in favour of the works going ahead in February this year - or whether they are neutral on this issue.

He has already contacted Charlie, Richard and Roger and organised for the works to go ahead starting the 12th February.

@Jessica Lo Bianco there is a hub fund and any expenses can be covered from that. Just keep a record on a spreadsheet and receipts or scans of receipts.

Equipment was bought to be permanently stationed in the hub kitchen and toilet, such as sponges and mops. Full details (receipts and inventory) to come...

@Jessica Lo Bianco as above this can be covered from the hub fund, just keep a record. If you don’t have a receipt, for this small amount my view is that’s it’s fine as you clearly got a bargain!

I have acquired tiles (40) to replace broken tiles on the wall of the kitchen (Splash-back). It cost me £5. I do not expect this returned, but if that's arranged, fine. This is merely for record. :)

Updates:
Good news regarding fire safety. I had a nice long chat with Pemb Fire Safety Officer, and have a path forward with regard to H&S Fire assessment and processes. We CAN have a non-powered manual fire procedure and be compliant. This plus the ceramic water filters means we do not need to go with a solar backup at this stage.
The hot water problem may just be one of an airlock, further investigations will be done.
The toilet is regularly found with the door open and lid up. There has been a mass of flies, is anyone up for a refurbish of helpful signs and explanations?

We need to get those who were at the meeting in the hub to join this forum so we can chat and keep each other updated, especially if meetings get missed. At the moment I can't find the note I made of who put their hand up to help with the hub? Anyone recall?

This is a summary of ideas from the TyG Ltd/ Plot owner's recent meeting. We agreed in principle that the hub needs to both serve the community and be run by the community in order to be sustainable and self-supporting. H&S issues need to be finally addressed and resolved to be opened to the public again and are a priority. I believe 1-4 must be done to open again fully.
Fire safety, get alarms and (sprinklers?) functional, and other fire stuff up to date.
Water and H&S in the kitchen, follow the recommendations of the 2017 inspection.
Build electrical power resilience with solar and battery sets, allowing water purifying and fire equipment to work.
Get kitchen hot water functional. Install separate kitchen drinking water tap.
Improve lighting
Get the underfloor heating working properly. Possibly can use FITS money for this as it is part of the dump load system. Possibly add extra heating for winter use.
Regulate and educate on the use of the toilet, making sure visiting campervans do not tip mixed sewage into the system
Refurbish floor, look at all possibilities and costs
Decide on what legal entity can best serve the hub and its community.
The order in which things are done needs to be considered. If we fix the non-floor issues with Ayres's pot of £3,000, then Roger's up to £9,000 can go to the floor and associated costs regarding winter warmth.

Who is the client for this work under CDM? - this person is responsible for the H&S of the workers and the public I assume it can only be Tir y Gafel ltd as the owner, which means the directors are responsible.
Who is the principal contractor?
Who is the principal designer?
Where can I find a copy of the construction phase plan?
Have the RAMS (risk assessments and method statements) been completed?
Once I’m comfortable on these answers then I can move to neutral and still have the following comment:
From the meeting I understand that Ayres was pledging his own money and therefore it was his choice what he wanted to invest in. From this poll it appears it’s funds from previous events at the hub. The funds were still held by Ayres and belong to the hub. If they belong to the hub they belong to all plotholders/ shareholders. In which case we’d all have a say on what to do with the money and I’d like a review of other hub priorities before progressing.
Could it please be clarified whether they’re Ayres’ personal funds or hub funds being used for these works?
