Planning for a Social.Coop online discussion with Cooperation Jackson
The idea is to organize an online discussion with people from Cooperation Jackson to discuss Jackson Rising and other questions.

The form and strength of our support can be decided over time. We might form our own chapter of Friends of CJ or join an existing chapter. We would need someone from our community to build these relationships. The content will emerge with the call.

I guess at this point it makes sense to focus on the online chat, making that useful, and then return to the discussion. I will follow up with Kali Akuno about the chat and keep people posted here.

Well, after a couple of tries, I have failed to get a reply from Brandon King and Kali Akuno at Cooperation Jackson. @jeffhardin -- would you be up for approaching them? Some times a different person/approach works.

Sure. Are there specifics around the ask? (Timing/topics for discussion, etc.?) I can keep it generic as well.

Hi Jeff, sorry not to reply sooner. I would say, feel free. Whatever you think would make for a good discussion. Thanks!

Sounds good and no need to apologize - I was away from the community last week so I am the laggard here. :)

In checking in on their web site, I cannot find anything newer than February in terms of local events. This seems strange. Having heard they are going through a rough patch, I have placed a calendar reminder to follow up on this next month.

Just a quick update to share that I reached out to CJ Tuesday to see if Mr. Akuno or another rep might spend some time with our group via video chat. Will let you know if I hear anything back.

Another alternative might be to combine this with the outreach to Kali Akuno and include the "Friends" email contact. Whatever might make the most sense.
