Jon's Plan for Recording Closed Fri 12 Dec 2014 10:05AM
- The recording session will be in FA27, starting at 2:30, similar to a regular rehearsal.
- All of our equipment is in Rafuse. The Eboard will go to Rafuse at 1:30 and pack up cars to bring to Rafuse. We will use Mike’s car and Kevin’s car
- Eboard brings everything to FA and begins setting up FA27. Zack sets up the recording equipment before warmups so that warmups can be used to quickly check levels
- Members' call is at 2:30. Warmups will begin at 2:45, and pieces will begin at 3:00. If members are ready earlier, warmups can begin earlier.
- Pieces will get quick run throughs, and work on certain trouble spots. The recorder (with the better sd card) will record all full run throughs, while Alan brings his own recorder for pieces with vocals. Composers will be given a maximum of 20 minutes per piece, though this time can be distributed among all of that composer’s pieces however he/she sees fit
- In between each piece, Zack will make sure that the previous piece has been successfully recorded
- Pack-up. All equipment is moved to Fine Arts/Rafuse

Ok yeah I agrreed before, but did not submit. Regardless, we don't know if Dr. Perry has agreed yet. So it's possible we will do it in FA-27, which I don't think is a major loss

It's the weekend before finals, I think it's unfair to ask our members to do this. Why can't we just use our semester show audio (which sounds fantastic even on my camera's audio)?

I agree with Mike (and Kevin).
As my last "final" for my classes is due Thursday, I personally have nothing going on Saturday. However, most of our members do. And you're right, if not enough people show up, there's no point in doing it anyway.

So are we not doing FA111 since Danny won't be with us the whole time?

I'm good with this plan. The only bump in the road that I can see is if not enough people show up. I'll send out an email on Wednesday/Thursday (the weekly email) and phrase it in an "opt-out" way - you have to tell us that you won't be there, otherwise we'll assume you will be. That said, the opt-out strategy falls apart if people don't read emails. Can someone other than me send a text to the group chat after I've sent the email to remind people to read it? (Or come up with another solution. I know this seems kind of like babysitting, but... I don't know. I guess if it's what we need to do then we'll do it. At least for this last event of the semester.)
