Here's a good test of loomio. for a group wide finance decision coming up 4/9 or 4/16.
This is a two step decision
whether to use a fiscal sponsor
which fiscal sponsor to use
This Discussion deals with Step 1 Whether to Use a Fiscal Sponsor - please keep the discussion focused on that.
All other finance matters will have their own discussion/decision space

As far as strategy and not having to invent the wheel... engaging Occupy the Roads do it keeps it in the family and monies left over or owed won't get "lost in the sauce" and preserved for Occupy projects or (gasp!) another National Gathering in 2015 : )

AFGJ provides tax deductible receipts for amounts over $250 (I think this amount is standard - I had seen it with wepay when Sandy was providing their own receipts, before having AFGJ take over management)
I believe Janet with OTR will do same.
also from Janet - difference between tax deduction and credit:
a tax credit for 50% of the donation
Tax write off means savings at your tax rate so the deduction comes off your income. But a tax credit is actual tax not paid. So it can be a much bigger break.(jw)
