Global Direct Democracy Group

Hi everyone here at SOL - Online Direct Democracy Australia .

This group has been dormant for some time now and I was wondering if it would bother you all if we take this loomio group to a higher level.

There has been a discussion in the loomio community about Political use for Loomio. It looks like the people in this discussion are going to form a group. I think that the scope of the group will be bigger than just using loomio and bigger than just one country (but also down to the local level).

Because I thought you all might like to be part of such a conversation I thought we could consider converting this group into a global conversation about Digital Direct democracy.

I am not sure what the other group of people want yet. They may choose to start a fresh group, and I will let you know if that happens.

We have also began changing our name. We are now OnlineDirectDemocracy (ODD). I laugh every time.

I have started a conversation about the sub-groups. Perhaps we also need "ODD Public".

I hope you can see that we gain heaps by making this group global. It will be a great conversation that helps not only the ODD party but all efforts all over the world. The global community really needs to find a place to work together on this idea.

i had said when i was first introduced to the old SOL that i was interested in a global solution, and had been looking for more input for 2 years at that point. i already have some great starting points to design a blueprint of a system, but i need more contributions to the over all and nitty gritty of what is being suggested.

i also think the app is a great idea for maintiaining control over the initial delegates. but thier job should be the iplementation of a system beyond just the app.
using the app as a transitional step to something more.

i look forward to discussions with you all.

@iuliandumitrascu I would like to keep talking and hope you will reconsider your vote when we understand more. In a way the SOL/ODD group still exists. I moved all its conversations to https://www.loomio.org/g/MLaj0bwe/global-direct-democracy-working-group-discuss-anything

We could rename this sub-group to "SOL/ODD" and nothing will have changed. Please join that group and start the conversation if you like that idea.

@gregorycassel It was dormant until I started these changes. Even tho @iuliandumitrascu disagrees I hope he is still happy to let this change happen. But, yes, if it gets messy we will just create a new group.
