Ouishare Summit Lisbon

IS Inês Silva Public Seen by 144

Hey there! Early next year, we are organizing a Ouishare Summit in Lisbon. We want now to set the date and we need your help. My suggestion is the 20th to the 22th of January 2017. What do you think? Any objections?

Sorry, I'll be in India. If possible mid March is a better option.

Thanks for leading this! I would suggest to add a 2nd set of dates and mid march sounds good. Late Jan might be difficult for me.

I'd really like to attend but these days probably won't work for me, so would be nice to get several date suggestions! :)

As we discussed @inessilva , I think it would be good to also bring into the conversation a second date option, which would be after a big event happening in France, so mid March.

Is the Lisbon team not at all available at this time?

@francesca I think everyone voted on the date above, which is January 20-22. At least that is what I voted on, as I probably will not be in Europe in march anyway ... Jan 20-22 seems to work for a lot of people :)

I'm happy we're considering Lisbon as our summit place, it looks very promising :-) However, I personnaly feel it would be better around mid-March as well, as we have this big OuiShare event on 9th and 10th. It would be a nice way to "rest" & debrief. January is often a period of rush. I'd go for March too.

Looks like seeing this too late. First of all thanks for the offer and initiative. Great there is another summit planned. Concerning dates, I also would rather prefer a date in March, but would try to make it in January as well.

Thanks everyone for voting! It looks like we have a pretty clear result that mid March works best for the majority of people, so let's go for that then.

Sorry for those who won't be available then that were in favor of January!

Ok so I propose we hack loomio to make this decision making process efficient, I've seen others use this as well:

  • Thumbs up = preference for 20 - 22 January
  • Thumbs down = preference for mid March, after the 11th
  • Abstain: I don't have a preference

Thanks for voting again!

Still very busy in establishing cloudsters here in Hamburg. So still unlikely for me to attend. But wishing all who do a fantastic time!

@inessilva could you propose a final date after March 11th that works for the local team so we can put it in the calender and people can start booking?

I think Thursday - Sunday would be a good time span again as we have done in the past sometimes, so 16-19 of March!

IS

Thank you @francesca! The dates are set! 16th to 19th of March it is! Looking forward to having you all in Lisbon.

@francesca I'm wondering if we should not have made a doodle instead of twisting Loomio to make a change between several dates :) here you can only choose one date

f.e. if 2/3 of people who agreed for March were also available in January, then January would have been chosen ... especially because a lot of people were ok with both

anyway ...

F

Francesca Tue 25 Oct 2016 10:10AM

If people would have also been available in January, they would have chosen "abstain" = no preference. And so if you add the abstain with either the jan or march dates, more people are available in March :)

Obviously this was not the most natural way to organize dates for the summit, but we need to be patient with new people learning how to use loomio, and since Ines had already started with a proposal, I figured we continue with the same tool so avoid confusion.....next time maybe doodle is better, although actually what I think we should do now is set the dates for the next summit after that now, for Munich in the Fall, so that everything is still open :)

Hello All, do we already have a rough idea of the activities schedule or at least day scope? I'm struggling to see if I can make it to Lisbon at least for the first two days as I'm most likely busy on the weekend :(

@berniejmitchell @francesca The dates wont interfere with the conference, no worries.
