7 members co-ops to leave CoTech [formerly 9]
We discussed the issue of lapsed members at the gathering in Birmingham last week.
During the decision making session at the end of the first day we passed the proposal to reverse membership of co-ops, which appear to meet at least one of the following criteria:
not responding to any communication for 2+ months,
their domain has been inactive,
they informed us about folding.
We wanted to ensure we give everyone a chance assuming they might have missed our emails throughout the year. On the second day of the gathering we attempted to reach lapsed co-op members over the phone, in some cases successfully, some of them said they are not operating, others said they are still game!
Here is the list of the co-ops proposed for removal from CoTech due to prolonged inactivity:
Digital Liberties -reason: domain defunct, no luck contacting over the phone.dtc innovation - reason: no luck reaching out via email addresses, no phone number.
Fairmondo UK - reason: domain defunct, confirmed folded over the phone.
GildedSplinters - reason: domain defunct, no luck contacting over the phone.
Glowbox Design - reason: domain defunct, no luck contacting over the phone.
InFact - reason: confirmed inactive and folding.
Open E Commerce -reason: no replies, no luck contacting over the phone.Sleuth - reason: confirmed inactive and folding.
Secure Active - reason: domain defunct, no luck contacting over the phone.
If you are aware of any information that can contradict the reasons above for any of the co-ops, speak now! Conversely, if you know of any other co-ops that are on this list yet might have stopped trading - also speak up!

7 members co-ops to leave CoTech Closed Mon 4 Jul 2022 3:01PM
The vote closed at the start of last week. Thought of leaving some extra time for any potential fresh information to emerge but it has not.
The result of this vote is that the following 7 co-ops are leaving CoTech:
dtc innovation
Fairmondo UK
GildedSplinters
Glowbox Design
InFact
Sleuth
Secure Active
The next step will be to remove these co-ops from CoTech website and edit Members Wiki page accordingly.
It is a sad moment but it can hopefully help us appreciate the value of being a part of CoTech and encourage active participation in the network. Feel most welcome to share your opinion!
As described in the thread, the gathering recommended removal of the co-ops we could not reach on our last ditch attempt on the second day in the afternoon.
Hence we now propose to remove 9 co-ops from CoTech:
dtc innovation - reason: no luck reaching out via email addresses, no phone number.
Sleuth - reason: confirmed inactive and folding.
Secure Active - reason: domain defunct, no luck contacting over the phone.

no longer in a coop so my vote doesn't count but wanted to add support for this. Long overdue! Does this mean they will be removed from the website, wiki, private area of the forum?

good move and non active or folded coops in the group negatively effect the overall perception of Cotech

Great idea. We can always re-add them if they surface.

Seems fine if they can't be reached in any way and the domain is defunct.

Having a little tidy up sounds good to us (GFR), thanks for making it happen. Shout if you need help removing co-ops from the cotech site when you get that far.

No critical concerns here, hope we manage to establish more reliable communication channels (or awareness of the existing ones) to make sure no one is left behind.
