We really just need one list and we can just reuse that. I think we should really think about that, because I'm not sure if W-VL will be able to have a list. Guys enough, but PP apparently isn't very attractive to girls :slight_frown: I think Liège has the same problem.

I assumed this meant you can't be on the list of, say ppbe and also on some local list for example. But this also implies that if you're already on the W-VL list, you can't be on the Liège list for example :(

My opinion is that it is better to collectively join DIEM25. It is a well organised platform where the pirates could fully join with, together with other small groups, as an alternative against an emerging nationalistic alt-right front. Forget about party-bound self-interest and invest in a common alternative that invites other progressives to counterbalance the short-sighted self-interest sponsored by Steve Bannon.

This is a whole other discussion altogether that needs it's own board. Please feel free to create one. As for the article, even if we do join, we still need to know how to participate in elections. It would've been better to ask around if others already made an article like this, so we could've used that. We did not do this now, it is something we should keep in mind for a next time. You are correct in that we aren't the only ones any more who feel the need to politically organise in order to bring more democracy.

There are still some open questions, I added them in square brackets. The answers can be found in the documents, but I just have to add it. Someone will also need to check the sources in the francophonian section.

There is also a part Practical about how you go about collecting signatures. I haven't done that yet myself, but there are some points I got as feedback from someone who has. It still needs to be put in a text.

Feel free to expand or otherwise improve where you feel is needed. I think it's quite complete for the most part ATM. Would be nice to be able to send this for the holidays :slight_smile:

Oh and please review the whole thing on both style and most importantly on facts! This is something we can't get wrong if you ask me ^'

For the districts and addresses I put it in a list, but that's quite long. If you think another format is better (e.g. a table, ...), feel free to do so.

I dragged the last changes I made through DeepL as well, so if someone wants to check the Francophone version, that would be great.

I also set a placeholder for a form were people can put themself up as candidate. Maybe this can help us put together lists. We'll need autographs as well then, but we'll see how that goes.

@iljabaert I can not find anyone to check the forms on wordpress. I did not manage to do it. If you have an alternative to make forms, I can refer to that, but for now I will tell them to send a simple mail to contact@pirateparty.be I would publish it that way now and change it later. Could use some good pictures though...

Ah, yeah mail is more than fine then. I don't have pictures :D Maybe one of the old election-posters? idk :/ Graphical things aren't my strong suite, so I'm not even sure what would 'fit' for this article

@iljabaert I adapted the French text a bit in the pad, but better to let someone native recheck.

I made some corrections but I would like a double check of my corrections. Anyway, nice job mates! (FYI, I did the links too)

Some corrections that I made in the French version, maybe they should be included in the dutch one too :

• Duitstalige regio => Duitstalige Gemeenschap
• the posters need not necessarily be posted on the panels by ourselves, but in some cases this work is done by the local administration (it's the case in Liège)

I added in the French version a line to remind that everyone is welcome, not just to sign or collect signatures but also to contribute to our political project.

And I checked the rest of the french translation. Thanks to the contributors of this article!

@vanecx I added the article in French on the Wordpress, so you can just have a look at it and publish it. @iljabaert There is one thing that I am not to sure about. In the Antwerp drink, they said members of the parliament can put as many signatures as they want, but that is not what in the article. Can we recheck?

@josse Ok, idd. So one autograph per district as I see it for regional and federal. Only one for European. Could you make the changes? And maye also the changes vanecx proposed?

EDIT One per district, this is also not 'as many as they want', but more then just one (which I assume the article said?)

Yeej, another thing to add/change;

There's this part that says "Andere goede locaties zijn winkels. Uiteraard mag je niet zomaar een winkel binnen stappen en klanten lastig vallen. Niets verbiedt je evenwel om bijvoorbeeld op een openbaar plein vóór die winkel te gaan staan."

This was a tip I got from someone who did the previous elections. But I've asked around and much better is:

"Uiteraard mag je niet zomaar een winkel binnen stappen en klanten lastig vallen. Wat je best doet is voordien even naar binnen gaan en vragen of je een verantwoordelijke kan spreken. Je kan dan vragen of je aan de ingang mag staan om handtekeningen te verzamelen. Deze kan dan al dan niet goedkeuring geven."
