Comment Platform on the Blog
Our blog comments are either :
- ... a constant warzone against spam;
- ... a desert;
- ... a spamland;
- ... a place to complain that a link is down.
Meanwhile, the forums fulfill the same purpose, yet we're also complaining that there is a lack of new activity. Should it be time to remove the comments and point to the forums?

Nothing really of value has appeared in the comments lately. We're getting a lot of spam (the anti-spam detection system has blocked 11,112 messages so far) and we should focus on forum discussions.

I do agree that there are never any comments anymore, but I do enjoy it when there are... so I'm fine either way! _^

No one ever used them since the blogger era of NP, they're totally useless imo

They're redundant and make more work for the staff. Do away with them

@seb1 In fact, we can switch the order of the last sentence: If someone asks a question, who will be there to answer? Most of the eyes are looking at the forums, not that the posts' comments.

Since we want to make the most use of the forums, would it be possible for a blogpost to automatically create a forum topic about the model (which we can then link to in the blogpost)? Could a program/script be written to do that? (who likes a challenge?)
GP Tue 8 Apr 2014 11:37PM
@byte2222 I know the HTML and CSS markup languages, but I'm unable to program anything (and that seems like a moon shot, especially for what we need), sorry.

If they're rarely used and don't add much to the blog, I don't see why they shouldn't be removed. If someone has a question, the forum is the best way to go.
