Vogelmorn Precinct Planning - steering group meeting notes

Hi Nick.
Its great to hear about the new Lions group and naturally we are delighted that you and your members are keen to be involved in the Precinct planning project.
The natural starting point for that is this weekend when we hold our first Precinct Planning workshop. (promotional message attached). This is a good opportunity for everyone to get an understanding of how the process will work and how they can be involved.

Loved meeting all the local people, looking forward to the next series of meetings in the new year, pity I had to leave early. Hi everyone, here are the notes from the Steering Group meeting on the 13th of April.

Hi all - great news! The funding of the Vogelmorn Precinct's developed design process has been added to the WCC's draft annual plan, to the tune of $20,000. It actually looked a bit touch and go as it had been left out of the Mayor's report recommending amendments to the draft. However, Cr Paul Eagle tabled an amendment with Cr David Lee's support in the council committee meeting today, and got the votes needed to add it in! Our thanks to Crs Eagle and Lee for this. Cr Eagle said he thought it's the most genuine community consultation process he's witnessed, so congratulations to Cally, Sam and Nick of Co-op Co-operative for their wonderful work there. The draft annual plan will be formally approved by the full council on 29 June, but it is unlikely to change much now.

The next step will be the presentation to the Community, Sport and Recreation Committee on 15 June. And then all go for developed design and the exciting efforts that flow from it... :thumbsup:
