Vogelmorn Precinct steering group meeting

Thursday 6 August, 5.20 pm at Felix Café

The aim is to put a concept plan and feasibility report together for submitting to the council as part of the next annual plan process. The probable target for that is early February next year. A further option is to have a proposal for the council to consider later in the annual plan process (most likely in May).

Our first step is to put together a plan showing phases in the process. This will also give a rough indication of what the funding will be used for. The plan is going to be something along the lines of:
1) agree terms of ref
2) step-by-step plan and budget
3) identify procurement needs and call on community expertise as applicable
4) analyse Kaka Project consultation feedback re Vogelmorn to develop demand profile
5) key-stakeholder consultation
6) scope initial options
7) consult about options
8) concept design
9) costings and feasibility
10) prepare case for annual plan.

Jaime will consult relevant council officers and advise about suitable models for procurement that tap into and recognise community expertise while ensuring fair process and avoiding conflicts of interest.

Phases of development that spread spending on the project would be one approach. The first priority is probably to get better connections between the hall, street, tennis club and green. We are assuming the former VBC clubrooms are also part of the mix, and will revisit as necessary.

Key-stakeholder consultation includes talking to BCA about meeting diverse community needs in a complementary way.

Hello Precinct steering gp thanks for your minutes- when are you next meeting ?

I've got another set of notes to complete, from our second meeting. We are arranging a time to meet with a group interested in conducting a participatory design process. This will probably take place next week. Either way, we will meet next week as a steering group.

Hey @benzwartz, we had our latest Vogelmorn meeting on Thursday 8th. I am just finalising the notes from that, and will post them up shortly.

Hi, I am the President of the newly established Brooklyn Lions. We are a a new club with young members looking to grow and looking to get involved in community projects such as the Vogelmorn Precinct Planning project. I would really like to talk with someone to discuss how our Lions can be most effective in Brooklyn / Vogelmorn area.
