Cross Cultural Learning, Community Collaboration and Technology

V Vidya Public Seen by 306

What is the role of culture within our learning pedagogies? Are local communities open to collaborate with their learning providers? What is the role of technology in encouraging conversations of culture, community and collaboration within and outside learning structures? I am interested to organise a workshop to discuss the role of technology to encourage discussions within areas of cross-cultural learning and school-community collaboration. The workshop will aim to engage in a dialogue on topics relating to 'culture' in its widest sense and debate on the challenges that threaten the sustainability of projects relating to cross cultural learning and community collaboration. Although my experience regarding the aforementioned topics is based within the formal education system, I think the topic will find importance and relevance within diverse eco-systems where people and technology are involved. The workshop is suitable to those that are curious, to those that are interested and most certainly to those that have a research interest/experience in the above mentioned topics.

Great idea Vidya - have you thought about ways your latest (just about to be published!) paper could inform how the workshop might run?

Hey Matt..Thanks for stopping by. In terms of using my published paper, I would like to highlight the use of technology to scaffold and support community collaboration. I think we have had some really good feedback from both the community members and the schools on the use of technology to build resources. I would like to share the case-study on how we approached it and what our next steps are following that successful case-study.
