Flat screen for Prime Produce
Hi guys, I’m giving a talk in the meditation room on Saturday and need to share some work on a screen. Since it’s too bright in there during the day for a projector, I’m thinking of buying a flat screen tv from bestbuy or craigslist. Does the guild need a flatscreen for use later? We can keep it in the collaboratory for use by anyone later. It’s about $300. I can buy it and then return it (for a fee), or we can just keep it. Let me know what you think.

I (and could just be my own preference) like that the meditation room not having a TV in there. And given our financial constraints, the $300 could go to other things i.e., professional cleaners coming in to clean the building etc.
UPDATE: Thanks for the clarification Saks. Although it would be nice to have, I think we shouldn't spend limited financial resources on something we don't need/is not essential - plus it's better to not have a large item in the guild taking up limited space.

Hi @marcossalazar1, I wasn't suggesting the TV be in the meditation room. I'm proposing it for the collaboratory (or elsewhere). I'm only using it in the meditation room for a couple of hours on saturday. I agree the meditation room should stay clean.

I'm abstaining because I have no objection to the idea of having a PPAC-owned t.v. for various members' uses and want Saks to be able to give his talk, but I am also quite sensitive to our current fiscal situation.

Hey Saks, I think you should re-open the poll as many people didn't get a chance to take a look at it or vote b/c it was within a very short time span.
