What tools should we give the buissness sector in NZ? And how do we do it?

I think we need a policy that allows for a buissness thrive in the whole sectors. Do we need a start buissness program to help people get started which focus on growing buissness fast with effective help. This may be done by giving effective tools to the growing buissness intiaitives. Do we also need to support growing buissness that support the environment?

As technology evolves, so does the nature of business. I think the best thing we can do to support industries is to implement reforms related to innovative education, and creating social justice and equity, as we've discussed in many other threads.

The only way I know for a small business to get funding from a bank is via using the equity in there home as a mortgage.

Aren't banks the go to for funding when there's no one else to go to? And consequently, banks are the largest provider of start up capital? I don't know. That's why I'm asking.
So you want the govt to fulfill that role? What mechanisms and measurable's do you have in mind to make sure we achieve meaningful outcomes for all, not just business owners but their employees as well?
Should we favor exporters over domestic businesses - better to bring more money in than stir the pot? How much are businesses expected to return to the govt for the investment and how? Through their taxes? Employing people?
Perhaps along with supporting the start-ups we could work to make existing businesses financially viable enough to pay decent pay rates so minimum wagers can live without government handouts like accommodation supplement (landlords benefit) and working for families (employer subsidy).
