Compensation in Organizing Circle
This thread is for discussion and sense-making around how the stipend allocated to Organizing Circle should be used and how contributions of circle members to the group should be tracked.

While I understand the ethics around compensating work done, I'll be honest that the tax headache would be a huge hurdle for me actually drawing something down here. I'm more ok with tracking my hours and calling it an in-kind donation. I would be willing to draw it down and then turn around and donate it back to the organization (as long as the transaction fees didn't get too large).
Thoughts?

If we want diversity in the composition of the various WGs, this can play a part in the decision to participate. I'd be interested in exploring what's being done elsewhere. Even if that means discovering that it's not currently feasible.
I know that there are HR solutions for companies that hire from several countries. Would they offer this kind of service? At what cost?

I think it's important to show how much time is spent in administration and general work for Social coop. Something like the below table

Compensation logs
Pulling down the agenda item that we didn't get to discuss:
What does a compensation log looking for OC and how can we encourage other WG to log? https://share.mayfirst.org/apps/files/?dir=/CWG&scrollto=Community%20Working%20Group%20Compensation%20Log.xlsx
