Member Contribution
Following on from our recent poll where the decision was passed to make changes to member contributions as outlined in the Fairness Proposal, some members wanted to be able to ask some clarifying questions. Here's the space to do it.
The proposal decision will be fed back to the next Dollars Jedi on Thursday 20th May.

Being clear is important. I am also wondering the same as Cherish, re the extra 5%. The dip in income percentage is also very handy for quiet periods. PS there was lots of words here, i did read most of them! 🙂

I think this is fair and will hold everyone (incl myself) accountable.. and will make Jeder a better place.

I agree as I don't think what is asked of us is unreasonable.
I would note that under Member Contributions it states that a member will contribute/participate in the Culture Jedi 'for the first 12 months'. My understanding is that it is meant to be an ongoing commitment so that wording may need amending.
Clarity please on the 5% for project/grant funding - would this mean an overall 20% contribution (existing + project/grant funding) for membership?

Because expectations were made clear on on-boarding and these guidelines will encourage contribution and connection.

I love this! It IS tough love but we have been trying a gazillion other ways to encourage people to step up so, maybe hitting the hip pocket will do it! Haha! I particularly love the attention paid to members whose income may drop below a desired level for a period of time! Kudos to you both!!!

Jeder Members Contribution Proposal Closed Tue 27 Apr 2021 11:01AM
Thank you to everyone who voted on this proposal and your overwhelming support.
I would like to respond to the clarifying questions that some of you asked.
The 5% contribution for Grants/Projects is a reduction from the 15%
The 50% relates to members who join Jeder after 1st July and would still be above the award for a casual worker.
If not 50% what do you propose?
The Fairness proposal comes after multiple strategies to engage members to fulfil their members contributions including and not limited to members moments, gatherings, emails and individual phone calls and was designed to encourage participation
All members have the same contribution requirements
The monitoring of the Fairness Proposal is included in the proposal i.e. Admin, Coaches and TCOB
We can review the proposal in 6-12 months
Any other proposals to support members to fulfil their contribution to Jeder would be greatly appreciated.
For quite some time there has been conversations regarding Membership Contributions the following Fairness Proposal has been developed in response to these conversations.
Member Contributions (from website):
15% of income earned
Actively participate and collaborate with other members and teams
Opportunity to contribute to blogs on the website
Contribute to promotion of all Jeder activities
Participate in peer to peer mentoring/coaching
Complete an Art of Hosting training within the first 12 months
Contribution and participate in the Culture Jedi for the first 12 months.
Demonstrated commitment to Jeder philosophies and practices
Commitment to attend the November Jeder Gathering.
Fairness Proposal
5% for project and grant funding- this could include: Grants/Tenders applied for using Jeder Institute as the primary applicant. This could include using current members as staff and/or engaging external agencies/partners (sub-contractors?). (This is not in addition to 15% rather a reduction from 15% in recognition that it is hard to factor in 15% admin plus any project admin into a grant application)
10% of income for a maximum of 3 months if a contributing members revenue drops below $2,000 per month. This will be by agreement with each contributing member and the Bored/Coach.
15% for membership - existing arrangement
25% for non-contributing current members (those that have been onboarded and current as of June 30 2021)- not meeting the membership requirements for a period of 6 months (as described below).
-
50% for non-contributing new members (those onboarded from 1 July 2021)- not meeting the membership requirements for a period of 6 months (as described below)
Non-Contribution consists of not attending/contributing 4 out of 5 of the below or 80% of requirements.
Jedi attendance- Culture Jedi plus own nominated Jedi,
AOH training- one within first 12 months,
one gathering per year (May and/or November),
member moments as scheduled/agreed,
team meetings (as scheduled/agreed).
Process-
Admin to provide a quarterly report regarding contribution register and this is reported to the Coach/Pod meeting.
Members identified as not contributing for three months-
Coach to email an initial “Contribution Reminder Letter” to the member and add a copy of the letter to the members Echidna file
This letter will be included for discussion during a member moments review.
The letter will outline that if member does not contribute within the next three months, then a change to their contribution percentage will be applied (25% or 50%).
Coach to follow up with current member at 6 month mark (or three months after contribution reminder letter issued), if there is continued non contribution for a further three months:
2nd “Final Contribution Reminder Letter” is emailed advising member of increase in their administration charge.
TCOB/Finance will be notified and 25% (or 50%) will be applied for all income earned for next 6 months.
This arrangement will be applied until there is a regular contribution evident for a period of 6 months.
If there is no further contribution after the further 6 months, discussion will commence with the member regarding exit options or the possibility to contribute a continued higher level of administration.
