a better rewording i think

... but who are the "power holders"?We know who they are, they know who they are - but should we mention them at all? We will strive better to inform (everyone/the public/stakeholders) etc.

I think that's a good idea, i.e. "We will strive to better inform Teaching Associations, Accrediting Bodies, Language School chains, well-known ELT professionals..." What do you think?
Helen Waldron Sat 11 Jul 2015 2:19PM
Agree with Blair. "We will strive to better inform the stakeholders and key players in the industry...". I think "power holders" is too provocative and even mentioning Teaching Associations etc. may make them defensive and less willing to listen.

We strive to better inform....(object)...about what? I mean what are we informing them about exactly?
Mura mentioned 'the issues' above - but can we be more precise? Nobody has mentioned 'precarity' yet but I think that's a concept that describes our condition.

Regarding Marek's suggestion - if you start listing groups you'll always miss someone out.
Regarding Helen - personally I don't find 'powerholders' provocative. Isn't this the truth? How is this provocative?
Power just means resources, influence, organisational capacity.
I mean what is the British Council but a powerholder? They have all the resources of the UK government behind them.
I like the reworded version.
