Legal Structure
Private company, public company, incorporated association, trust??
What type of entity would be used for this?

If we used a company it would have to be public otherwise it's limited to 50 shareholders. Are you sure that a public company needs to be listed on a stock exchange though?

Maybe we can use Loomio for "voting" or at least of getting a clear idea of the weight of support for any particular proposal...?

For the record, this is not my area, but I think a public company is out of the question (this would mean listing on a stock exchange and enormous compliance and regulation issues). Co-operatives are another option http://www.coopdevelopment.org.au/communityenterprises.html
