Becoming a Host Site for Columbia School Of Social Work's Field Education Program
Hey all! Roz and I have been talking to the Columbia School of Social Work, who want to send some of their 1st and 2nd year students interested in Social Enterprise to come and get a field education by assisting our team in doing what we do!
The 1-3 students would be here multiple times a week (on a schedule we work out with them) to work alongside a supervisor from our team (I'm volunteering to be the primary point of contact, with any interested members also providing guidance to the students.) With keycard access, they could potentially help us open up the space and work on guild-related projects while manning the reception.
We'd love to hear your thoughts, objections, and feedback on what level access we should provide them, what should be their daily tasks, and what special projects they might be able to assist with!

This sounds amazing. Super in favor. I would like to explore how we might also bring their interests and education to bear - perhaps we can have them develop a community-oriented project over the course of their time with us? It would also be great to get a sense of their interests and why they want to do this program. Thanks Roz and Jerone for connecting with an important piece of Columbia.

Hi everyone! Just wanted to close the loop on this and let you all know that we are moving forward and are just waiting on Columbia to let us know when they have some good candidates for placement here.

A resounding yes. I think they should have full access in exchange for a schedule for their substantive help.
