Admin budget

Do we have one? Can it be shared? Who approves it? Can we co create it? Who reviews it? How often? What does it cover?

I couldn't make any comments on the membership document, kept asking me to re-load then still wouldn't let me. Is it me? Can the document be made public?

It seems to be public, the info is also in the Jeder Handbook as you said.

Thanks Kerry - very interesting... and I mean that! Haha! I was surprised how big it was actually!

I'm curious about how can we monitor performance against the budget separately from Jeder's other income / expenditure? And who should be responsible for monitoring performance against the budget? The Board or the $Jedi?

Quickbooks can provide a report - Expenditure vs Budget for the Admin bucket

Okay, that'd be really useful...can we set that up once admin budget is approved?

I think I have entered the draft from memory to quickbooks and any amendments can be made. I thought the board had passed the admin budget a few meetings ago but maybe I'm mistaken.

That sounds great - don't think we have although we have discussed a few times... audit costs is a budget item I to discuss / add and definitely we should get this finalised at next board meeting! :)

Also, with one of the conversations in the $Jedi, there is a proposal to also use external advice consultants (one of a better word) that may also need an allocation in the admin budget. In terms of the admin budget as a whole, can other budget items (i.e. consultants) be added later in quick books if the proposal is supported?

Sure can Jason. The budget is a living document that can be updated as we go.

@lybmakin let's discuss it at the next meeting and pass the budget.

Thanks everyone (been a few days since I have looked at this thread). I have just had a look at the draft admin budget and can see potentially a few concerns. There is just over $900 remaining in the draft budget- and with the conversations around external consultant to be used as needed (above), I am thinking that this will not go far (although not expecting to get much external advice with the expertise we have in Jeder already). Also, was the budget developed based on last years income/expenses? If so are we expecting to remain at the same level of income/expenses this year or are we expecting growth- for example generating more income in contributions, increase in workers comp premiums, other insurance premiums increasing, gathering bucket increasing with potentially new members attending etc etc). Its great it can be updated as we go, but can we have a conversation around this at the next $Jedi before it is presented to the board for approval/endorsing/supporting @kerry63 and @michelledunscombe ?

Thanks @jasonemmins the budget was based on the last financial year and yes there will be movement this year as we have more people on board. It was an interesting process developing the draft budget as there are many unknowns so much of it is best guess based on growth.
