CELTIC BURN Decisions
Celtic Burn uses Advice Processes (APs) to make community affecting decisions.
Advice Process: [The short version]
[1] Day to Day decisions - If you can reasonably claim that your decision doesn’t need community-wide AP, use Task Cards in Wrike (formerly we used Trello).
[2] Wider Decisions - Any decisions that may have knock on effects on the wider event/community - Use Loomio (great you're already here).
Before you make one of these Wider Decisions you must ask advice from those who will be impacted by that decision, and those who have expertise/ experience with that subject. If you follow this process, and honestly listen to the advice of others, that advice is yours to evaluate and the decision yours to make.
Consult friends and knowledgeable community members before creating an AP. When you feel confident about the extent of advice you've considered, formulate and publish a proposal as a NEW THREAD that includes the following: (This would be an A* proposal)
What purpose the proposal serves, and/or what tension it addresses
A discussion on the scope of the decision, including community and members impact analysis
How you invited people to take part in it, and what important input you got (include links if necessary)
A discussion on the collective principles or purposes you identified as relevant to the decision
Your proposal based on your investigation.
Answer any clarifying questions there might be.
Receive and resolve principled objections, and modify the proposal as appropriate.
Once you've made a decision, update your proposal on Loomio with a section that looks like this:
Decision has been made
Who made the decision: Your name
When was the decision made: Date
Decision summary: Short version of what you have decided
